Functions

Join a team of experts who ensure the smooth operation of the ATLAS superconducting magnets 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as well as various other superconducting detector magnets at CERN. This includes hands-on maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operation. It also includes reporting of findings through presentations and reports. Together with the ATLAS Magnet Project Leader, co-chair regular meetings with experts to discuss maintenance, operation, and consolidation efforts. Prepare works for the annual end-of-the-year maintenance period and the long shutdown periods. Contribute to design activities for future superconducting detector magnet projects, both for CERN and for the international community. Participate in Research and Development of technologies for superconducting detector magnets and associated technologies through the CERN EP R&D programme. Supervise students and fellows.
