MISSION

We are looking for an intern starting in February for a period of 6 months to use, enhance and validate a mechanical watch movement Digital Twin.

RESPONS I BILITIES

In close collaboration with the R&I Performance and Reliability team and the watchmaking laboratory, and under the responsibility of your internship supervisor, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Bibliographical research: how a basic movement works, theory around key sub-systems; Understanding and improvement of existing models; Capitalisation and analysis of all input parameters variability; Integration of variability into simulation models; Sensitivity analysis of the most critical parameters; Establishment of a detailed report explaining the results and approach; Results communication within the team and to the Manufacture; All or part of the project management.

PROFILE

You are a Master-level engineering student in computational science and engineering, mechanical engineering, microtechnology, mathematics or equivalent, with a specialization in mechanics, modeling, numerical methods or finite elements. A good knowledge of Matlab, Python, Ansys Workbench is a real asset. Fluent in French and English.

Curious, dynamic, organized and autonomous, you have a good ability to synthesize information and are proactive. With good interpersonal skills, you demonstrate writing skills and analytical rigor.

Based mainly in Buttes at the Manufacture ValFleurier, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other research sectors within our hub located in Microcity, Neuchâtel.
