Job Description

IPS is hiring Global leader in Engineering is looking to hire a passionate and talented Electrical Engineer to join our growing Swiss team in Basel

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex technical challenges related to projects within the life sciences industry. As Electrical Engineer you will be providing planning and design support, applying your educational training, creativity and expertise to tackle engineering challenges and execute tasks as assigned. 


YOUR ROLE

Prepare design computations and quantity estimates and develop probable construction cost estimates for the smaller, less complex projects. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). Modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies and designs for project. Make calculations using engineering formulas and skills for design such as lighting calculations, power distribution calculations, equipment sizing, etc. Create specialized drawings such as electrical riser diagrams. Select equipment based on recommendations of Project Designer/Engineer and fill out equipment schedules. Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters. Research design options and document findings for Project Designer/Engineer. Keep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services. Research code issues. Organize and maintain project files.  Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards. Assume special projects as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements

YOUR PROFILE

3+ years of Electrical engineering design experience; Life Science industry exposure is a + Knowledge of electrical code and safety standards. Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). Experience with design of building electrical systems, such as: building service, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security and other low voltage systems. Fluent in French and/or German and English (B1+)
