ROLE DESCRIPTION 
• Viking is currently seeking a Manager to join our New Build team for our fleet. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting operations for all future new build ship deliveries. 
• The Manager is responsible for coordinating and controlling all activities related to supply chain management with the suppliers worldwide. The logistics manager will liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers in planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as transportation, supply chain processes, warehousing, and customs clearance at destination. 
• The key focus of the role will be on ensuring delivery consistency, cost and process adherence, custom clearance and loading operations, as well as general ship support as related to purchasing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with different departments to place the purchase orders for all items for delivery of new build ships 
• Work closely with freight forwarders, suppliers, and port agents to ensure planning and deliveries are made in a timely manner
• Coordinate and manage the logistics of goods from the warehouse to the ship in Ancona
• Support the ships in case of deviations, delayed deliveries, or emergency orders, including coordination with suppliers for redirection of cargo to ensure the ships have all the supplies they need
• Identify local regulations and restrictions and ensuring supplier documentation is compliant 
• Support process improvements in the areas of new build operations as well as projects within the procurement team
• Support the Non-Food sourcing team for the ships in operation 
• Comply with all corporate and ship standards and procedures, including follows all policies, and safety and environmental procedures.
• Follow up invoices and credit notes registration and approval in cooperation with the accounting team
• Support in maintaining data in the company system


KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous working experience in coordinating logistics and procurement activities. Preferably in the maritime industry.
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and procedures. 
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• A can-do mindset, with a strong focus on delivery a superior guest experience as well as a focus on costs and budgets.
• Flexibility and stress resistance, team player, commitment, positive personality, professional appearance.
• Analytical mindset with a strong knowledge of excel.
• Ability to travel for long period of time at the time of delivery of the ship.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
