Our site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for the Quality Systems & Services Organization, we are currently looking for a Manager, QA, Contamination Prevention & Control (Pharmaceutical Microbiologist) . The successful candidate will support the end-to-end contamination control strategies within our Biologics Business Units.
Key responsibilities:
Design and implement contamination control strategies for critical utilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure the microbiological quality and compliance of utility systems used in biopharmaceutical production. Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate microbiological risks in utility systems. Analyze microbiological data from utility systems, identifying trends and gaps, and lead mitigation efforts. Provide QA oversight for utility sanitization processes, contributing to continuous improvement in contamination control. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate contamination prevention measures into process equipment. Investigate contamination incidents and out-of-specification results, guiding responses and defining CAPAs. Serve as a subject matter expert during regulatory inspections and customer audits.Key requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (preferably in microbiology). Substantial GMP experience in the biologics industry, with direct QA or QC Microbiology experience. Strong knowledge of contamination control principles, practices, and regulations (e.g., FDA, EMA). Working knowledge of microbiological testing methods, environmental monitoring, clean room management, and microbiological control strategy. Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; team-oriented with strong independent work skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong sense of ownership and ability to prioritize based on business needs. Fluency in English; ability to communicate in or willingness to learn German.Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people.
