You will be acting as the responsible commissioning engineer overseeing the installation and commissioning of substation automation systems for assignments classified as medium commissioning complexity. Managing completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Your Responsibilities

Champion Safety and Excellence: Embrace and enforce the highest safety standards from Hitachi Energy and our clients. Be a vigilant guardian, reporting hazards and advocating for continuous safety improvements

Lead with Precision: Spearhead the commissioning process with meticulous attention to detail, utilizing documented processes and checklists. Collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams to achieve excellence on-site

Drive Project Momentum: Diligently report on site progress and strategize effectively. Maximize the use of commissioning assets, ensuring every tool and test kit is leveraged for peak efficiency. Ensure the precision in documentation that paves the way for flawless as built records

Foster Innovation through Feedback: Be the engine of progress, offering actionable feedback to cross-functional teams. Your insights will sculpt the future of project delivery, turning experience into efficiency and excellence

Navigate with Foresight: Implement critical design changes and proactively manage risks. Your strategic mark-ups and mitigation plans will secure customer acceptance and set new benchmarks for project success

Enrich Collaborative Efforts: Actively engage in project review meetings, contributing to the planning and seamless execution of commissioning activities. Your input is a catalyst for collective achievement

Empower and Guide: Illuminate the path for Associate Commissioning Engineers, leading small project teams when necessary. Your guidance in managing scope changes and evaluating impacts is invaluable, ensuring projects meet their targets with precision

Ensure Excellence in Documentation: Masterfully prepare project documentation for SAT and FAT, securing necessary approvals with finesse. Your dedication ensures compliance, safety, and the ultimate success of protection systems and relay testing

Your Background

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

4 plus years’ experience as a commissioning engineer of automation systems and products

Knowledge of substation control and protection systems, philosophy principles of applications and concepts. In-depth product knowledge of Hitachi Energy. Working knowledge and understanding of protection philosophies

Basic knowledge of communication protocols like IEC61850, LON, IEC101-3, DNP etc. Strong knowledge of communication protocols in substations and able to read schematic drawings and identify or locate mistakes problem solving & conflict resolution

Proven technical report generation, communication, customer interface skills multi priority and multi-tasking. Analytical and strategic approach

Proficiency in both spoken & written English and German language is preferred
