As our new experienced Gas Operation Analyst at Novatek Gas & Power GmbH in Zug, Switzerland (NGP), you will be a trusted partner to the business, ensuring an optimized risk profile in line with our defined risk guidelines and policies.

 

Join a team of dedicated risk specialists

NGP- is an energy trading company that specializes in gas trading and offers optimization and hedging services to energy producers and suppliers. Right now, we are looking for an experienced Gas Operation Analyst for our Middle office team. In the team, our primary responsibility is to monitor the daily trading positions and mandates given for our trading activities and perform regular reporting of profit and loss. We serve as partners to the business teams, ensuring risk control on positions and products through profound discussions on models and risk appetite.

 

You will experience a culture with diverse backgrounds and nationalities, collaborating closely with experts within the energy sector. The way we work is characterized by close collaboration across the Risk and Middle office units, meaning direct access to colleagues with both quantitative modelling skills and colleagues with a dedicated focus on legal and credit risk. So, as our new colleague, you will get to take on complex issues with your other colleagues who are all enthusiastic about their field of expertise.

 

Your responsibilities and professional journey as a risk professional

Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the team, your tasks, your primary stakeholders, and our risk management framework at NGP. Your first task will be to get familiar with the Gas market portfolio and the responsibilities within our business area. In this position, you will play a significant role in always ensuring that we offer best-in-class risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improve the current UMIFR process with respect to system constraints and demands from Finance and Treasury.
  • Reflecting Trades (sales and buy) and costs in ETRM (CXL, UMIFR)
  • Monitoring of the Regasification process.
  • Gas in Store process (GIS level, loading, unloading, trucks, ITT)
  • Reconciliation of agent and service invoices
  • Various reporting

 

QUALIFICATIONS

We expect that you:

  • hold a relevant master’s degree within Finance, Mathematics or Economics
  • have knowledge of energy trading and related products, preferably with focus on gas trading
  • preferably, have 2-5 years of experience in trading, operations, or risk management
  • strong IT skills within ETRM systems, especially UMIFR
  • fluent in English and Russian, verbal and written.
