The Role
In this role, you will work directly with Associates, Partners, and clients across a range of jurisdictions on interesting and often complex matters involving many international aspects, including Swiss corporate and commercial law, and disputes work. That includes:
· Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on Swiss corporate and commercial law, as well as international legal principles, to provide accurate and comprehensive legal advice.
· Drafting and Reviewing Documents: Prepare, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings, ensuring they comply with Swiss law and international standards.
· Client Consultation: Advise clients on legal issues, strategies, and potential outcomes, maintaining clear and effective communication to understand their needs and objectives.
· Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings, managing all aspects of dispute resolution, from initial case assessment to final resolution.
· Cross-Jurisdictional Coordination: Collaborate with legal teams and clients across different jurisdictions to handle complex, multi-jurisdictional legal matters.
· Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure clients' operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating legal risks.
· Business Development: Participate in business development activities, including networking, client meetings, and contributing to the firm's marketing efforts.
· Team Collaboration: Work closely with Associates, Partners, and other team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
· Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their professional development.
· Continuous Learning: Stay updated on legal developments, industry trends, and best practices to maintain a high level of expertise and provide innovative legal solutions.
We are seeking candidates who:
-Are admitted as lawyers in Switzerland
-Have three to six years' experience in Swiss corporate and commercial law, and disputes (including litigation and arbitration) work
-Have excellent English and French communication and drafting skills
-Have a genuine interest in matters of Swiss law in an international context
-Demonstrate a keen interest in international commodities trading and shipping, and the applicable laws
-Are willing to think out of the box to find and implement innovative structures
-Are willing to learn new skills and strive to be the best lawyer they can be
-Are efficient and can demonstrate excellent time management
-Are willing to understand the client's business to best meet its needs
-Understand that providing outstanding client service is paramount
-Can maintain strong internal and external relationships
-Have a can-do attitude, are able to take initiative, and work independently as well as part of a team”
