You will be responsible for the integration of Resource Geology with Mine Geology in operational site teams to enable the delivery of aligned mine plans across all time horizons. You will also be responsible for deploying specialists within the team to support Mineral Resource development, further develop geological understanding and to understand geo-metallurgical challenges.

To deliver on that purpose some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Support collaboration between Global Geology Team SME’s, Exploration, Sites and the Regional Technical Team to grow the Glencore Zinc Assets Australia Mineral Resource base.
  • Ensure that all corporate reporting deliverables are met in relation to Mineral Resource estimation and relevant supporting documentation for life of mine planning.
  • Support the Glencore Zinc Assets Australia leadership team get the most from the resources in our region
  • Leading Senior and Resource Geologists in the estimation and reporting of mineral resources that support mine schedules for both underground and open cut operations, ensuring seamless integration of short-medium and long term plans
  • Mentoring Resource Geologists into potential Competent Persons for JORC Reporting purposes.
  • Developing and refining resource estimation technical standards including QAQC, geostatistical best practices, and robust resource classification
  • Support internal technical and tollgate reviews for operations and projects
  • Support technical evaluations and due diligence reviews as required
  • Assist with investigation and implementation of new mining and geology-related technology across our operations
Our expectations about you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology (or similar)
  • Strong Mentor and Collaborator
  • >10 years of experience in the mining industry and >5 years in resource estimation
  • Polymetallic experience will be viewed favourably
  • Advanced estimation software skills, preferably with a working knowledge of Acquire, Datamine, Deswik, Leapfrog, RMSP and Snowden Supervisor software
  • Ability to sign off as a Competent Person (JORC) and/or Qualified Person (NI43-101) on Ore Resource reporting
