Founded in 2003, ThomasLloyd Group is a cleantech advisor, sustainable energy infrastructure project developer and asset manager, and climate finance specialist. The Group owns, develops, finances, constructs, operates and manages energy infrastructure projects with a focus on growth markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The Group's Asset Management division is one of the longest established sustainable energy investment managers in emerging and developing Asia. It invests in higher margin markets with focus on achieving strong financial returns in addition to generating intentionally positive, measurable social and environmental impact. Headquartered in Zurich, the company has global presence with offices across Europe, Asia and North America.
Your Role
As an Impact and Environmental & Social Management Specialist, you will work with the Group Head of Impact and ESG to implement its ambitious impact goals for current and prospective sustainable infrastructure assets. You will also manage and report on environmental and social aspects of corporate and asset performance. Core areas of focus include (i) supporting the group to set Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Net Zero Targets, building on ongoing efforts to manage its GHG footprint (ii) enhancing group contributions to nature and biodiversity including by developing innovative carbon projects (iii) supporting better measurement and management of the quality jobs and livelihood footprint of its investments. A core responsibility will be supporting group reporting against the EU Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD).
This role will report to the Head of Impact & ESG and will be based in Zurich.
Your Responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with the Group Head of Impact and ESG and regional ESG focal points, you will:
Deliver impact and ESG reporting, including GHG and TCFD disclosures, and CSRD reporting. Lead technical work to set critical targets on carbon and climate risk management across the group, including SBTi Net Zero targets. Work with investment teams to assess and enhance the impact and ESG aspects of prospective new acquisitions or greenfield developments, using the group's proprietary tools and frameworks to ensure they deliver on key group strategic and thematic objectives and add value. Support efforts to implement and monitor the effectiveness of corporate and subsidiary company EHS and ESG performance in line with their approved environmental and social management systems (ESMS). Support periodic review of the Group Sustainability policy and subsidiary company ESMSs to accommodate emerging sustainability issues and priorities, including those required by EU regulation and evolving global good practice.Your Experience & Qualifications
5-8 years of experience with a minimum of 3-5 years of track record in sustainability analysis, management or reporting. Degree in a related field, e.g. Energy Science and Technology, Environmental Management, MBA in Sustainability or Climate Change Economics would be a plus. Experience supporting investment teams on deal analysis is highly beneficial, as well as experience working on projects generating carbon credits. Strong understanding of climate change and nature-based solutions, associated target setting and project design; experience setting and implementing a Net Zero target would be highly desirable. Existing track record of implementing sustainable development impact and community engagement opportunities, ideally including understanding of biomass energy and forestry-related sustainability issues. Familiarity with critical applied sustainability issues including supply chain due diligence, labour policies & standards and pollution management.Your Personal Attributes & Competencies
