Renowned companies from a wide range of German industries place their trust in us - demonstrating the outstanding expertise and commitment of our engineers.Project: Spryker Engineer ZurichWorkload: 80% 100%Start: January 1, 2026, or earlierEnd: June 30, 2026, with option to extendLocation: Zurich, remote, a few days on-site at the beginning and occasionally on-site later if necessaryApplications from outside Switzerland: Candidates must have an EU passport, Schengen state, may also be dual nationals (nationality outside the Schengen area with work permit for Germany, Austria, etc. is not possible)Task:Design and further development of the overall technical architecture of the online marketplace, based on the Spryker frameworkAnalysis and evaluation of existing system landscapes and definition of optimal integration strategiesClose cooperation with business and product teams in requirements analysis and technical specificationCreation of design guidelines and best practices for the development teamsResponsibility for performance and security in complex, distributed systemsSupport in scaling, expanding, and modularizing existing Spryker projectsMentoring and coaching developers in relation to Spryker standards, architectural principles, and clean codeRequirements/skills:Sound education in computer science (preferably a university or technical college degree)At least 10 years of professional experience in software development, including at least 5 years in e-commerce/Spryker environmentProven overall technical responsibility in a large e-commerce projectIn-depth knowledge of PHP 8+, Symfony, Composer, and Spryker Commerce OS (frontend & backend modules)Experience in designing complex and scalable microservice or modular e-commerce architecturesConfident in working with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Experience with API design, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous communication (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS)Understanding of domain-driven design (DDD), clean architecture, and SOLID principlesVery good German and English skills
