Associate Specialist – Public Health Surveillance and Health Information Systems - GL C - Defined Duration until December 2028The Associate Specialist, Surveillance and Health Information System will be embedded within the Grant Management Division and will support country teams across the High Impact Africa 1(HIA1), High Impact Africa 2 (HIA2), and Africa and Middle East (AME) departments.The role will contribute to advancing and driving integrated data systems that enable collaborative surveillance across malaria, HIV, and TB programs, national public health institutes (NPHIs), andhealth information systems (HIS) and related units. It will support the implementation and management of public health surveillance and health information systems projects in the selected countries.This includes ensuring effective project execution, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and reporting across multiple workstreams with Global Fund Country Teams and Technical Advice& Partnership (TAP) Department.The Associate Specialist will work closely with Country Teams, Specialists, Public Health Monitoring & Evaluation (PHME), Implementation Specialists, Managers, PHME and relevant technical departments, especially the Surveillance &Health Information Systems (HIS) team in the Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) unit (TAP Department). The incumbent will provide support in facilitating engagement with country stakeholders and ensuring effective implementation and alignment with broader health system strengthening efforts.Key Responsibilities:1. Project Management and Stakeholder EngagementLiaise and coordinate with different country stakeholders, including Principal Recipients (PR), malaria, HIV, and TB programs, national public health institutes (NPHIs), and health information systems (HIS) and related units to ensure effective engagement on grant implementationIn close coordination with the Implementation Specialists and TAP colleagues, and in collaboration with Country Teams (CTs), engage with Principal Recipients (PRs) and other incountry stakeholders to support project planning and execution, while monitoring deliverables, budgets, and timelinesFacilitate effective communication on the projects and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including technical partners and country stakeholders.Working closely with the Implementation Specialist, supporting knowledge management efforts, ensuring documentation and dissemination of key project outputs, lessons learned and best practices. Coordinate internal (especially with TAP RSSH team) and external communications, including with technical partners and country stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and expected outcomes, supporting timely decision-making and effective implementation.2. Reporting and CoordinationCompile relevant information on the projects and country Health Information and Surveillance systems, and draft communications for senior management and external stakeholdersContribute to the creation of briefing materials, slide decks, summaries and other materials for internal and external meetings, partner fora, senior management and oversight bodiesMaintain timely and accurate reporting on projects implementation aligned with organizational and donor requirements3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and LearningSupport the Implementation Specialist, Public Health Surveillance and Health Information System through:1. Conducting regular monitoring and analysis of implementation progress and data use.2. Generating evidence from projects implementation/ outcome to be used as guidance on strategic investments in future grant cycles.4. Strategy Alignment and DeliverySupports Country Teams in providing guidance for country engagement in GF strategy-aligned innovations and initiatives on Surveillance and Health Information Systems5.
