Run what runs the world.This Position reports to:Power Systems Engineering ManagerYour roleAs a Project Engineer in Power Systems at ABB, a global leader in technology, electrification, automation, and digitalization, you will be part of an engaged international project team, playing a crucial role in providing innovative technical solutions for our clients.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.You will be mainly accountable for:Working on the development of Power Distribution designs, from conceptual to detailed stages, for a broad spectrum of equipment such as MV switchgears, Low Voltage MCCs, Transformers, Neutral Earthing Resistors, DC power Supply, Power Factor Correction, Harmonic Filters, contributing significantly to design reviews, leveraging your knowledge to clarify technical aspects of the projects.Preparing and reviewing a wide range of technical documents, including single line diagrams, load lists, specifications, Wiring Diagrams, General Arrangements, Layouts, Functional descriptions, Power System Protection Philosophy, Digital Protection relay logics and IEC61850 Engineering.Collaborating with project team members across various disciplines (including control systems, infrastructure, drives, etc.) to ensure seamless integration towards power distribution systems.Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and equipment suppliers from the procurement to delivery phases to ensure the equipment aligns with project requirements.Qualifications for the role:A master's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with focus on power distribution or similar field.10+ years of experience in the field of power systems, working as senior project engineer or project lead engineer.Sound knowledge in energy distribution concepts, electrical network studies, sizing and specifying of primary and secondary equipment, with experience working with MV Switchgears and LV MCC projects, including Digital Protection relays and IEC61850 Engineering.A high level of self-motivation and curiosity, and a willingness to learn about new technologiesDemonstrated leadership capabilities, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and written and spoken communication skills.Fluency in English, other languages are welcomeWillingness to travel abroad approximately 25%.More about usGREAT MINDS, GREAT MINESFrom cellphones, electric vehicles, batteries, wind farms...virtually every aspect of modern life relies on the ores mined from the earth.
