Background:UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.The Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) is a partnership between the United Nations, Member States, and civil society, which supports women-led and women's rights organizations working to build peace and provide humanitarian response throughout the world. Since the end of 2016, the WPHF has supported close to 1000 civil society organizations in 41 countries.UN Women hosts the Secretariat of the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund. The WPHF Secretariat provides support to the Funding Board, mobilizes resources from Governments, companies, foundations and individuals, designs funding windows and mechanisms, provides day-to-day support to Country Offices implementing WPHF programmes, and ensures timely and quality monitoring and reporting. The Secretariat's mandate is also to strengthen stakeholders' knowledge of and engagement with women, peace and security issues through proper internal and external communications, advocacy and outreach. Finally, the Secretariat provides capacity strengthening, peer mentorship knowledge management services for the WPHF and manages the Community of Practice (CoP) for WPHF partners and grantees.Under the guidance and direct supervision of The Communications and Advocacy Specialist, the Learning and Advocacy Analyst is responsible for Planning Peace Is...summits, regional consultations and activities throughout the campaign's tenure. The Learning and Advocacy Analyst will have a matrix reporting line to the Global Learning Hub Coordination Specialist. The Learning and Advocacy Analyst will also work in close collaboration with the Coordination Specialist/Special Assistant on integrating the Peace is outputs into the development and implementation of the Global Women's Peace Forum, engaging relevant partners across academia, civil society, member states and the private sector. Scope of Work: Coordinate the implementation of Peace Is Summits and Regional ActivitiesCollaborate closely with colleagues to plan and implement at least 2 regional initiatives for the Peace Is Campaign. Support implementation of at least 2 Peace Is All of us Summits. Support General advocacy for the Peace Is Campaign. Coordinate partnerships with academic partners for the Peace Is Campaign and identify possible opportunities with the WPHF Global learning Hub. Support the development and implementation of the Global Women's Peace Forum (GWPF)Collaborate closely with the Coordination Specialist/Special Assistant to develop and finalise the GWPF Concept Note and budget. Identify and support oversight of the GWPF Budget. Coordinate outreach to CSOs and key stakeholders attending the GWPF. Ensure synergies between Peace Is campaign, previous GWPF and the GWPF. Support Monitoring and Evaluation for the Peace Is CampaignSupport the development of an M&E matrix for the Peace Is Campaign. Systematically collect data for the Peace Us Campaign. Liaise with the M&E Team to share and confirm data. Draft Peace Is Summary Report identifying key outcomes. Coordinate activities closely with the WPHF Global Learning HubSupport development of at least one new WPHF Global Learning Hub course. Support the coordination of the WPHF Global Learning Hub Mentorship Scheme. Support the coordination of the peer exchange linking it to the Peace is Campaign and other WPHF programme activities. Manage WPHF Global Learning Hub members' database. Moderation and Facilitation.Minimum Qualifications:Education and CertificationMaster's degree or equivalent in Political, Law or Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, Gender/Women's Studies or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.ExperienceAt least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the international level in capacity building for projects/programmes. Experience working with NGOs or grassroots civil society organizations. Experience with learning methods and management of web-based platforms. Familiarity with small grants' management is an asset. Experience supporting the implementation of advocacy campaigns is preferred. International experience is desired.LanguagesFluency in English is required. Fluency in French and Arabic is desirable.
