SummaryThe Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with Texas Children's Hospital, is seeking a highly motivated PhD or PT/PhD-level researcher for a full-time, research-focused position in TCH Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, dedicated to advancing pediatric rehabilitation. This role will lead efforts to expand our understanding and application of pediatric rehabilitation interventions while playing a key role in establishing a new pediatric rehabilitation research initiative. The successful candidate will 1) conduct independent research, 2) collaborate closely with physician-scientists and clinicians in the department, and 3) help lay the groundwork for building a research rehabilitation institute, driving innovation and improving outcomes for pediatric patients.Job DutiesResearch Design and Implementation (40%)Design, implement, and conduct independent and collaborative research studies in pediatric rehabilitation.Data Analysis and Dissemination (20%)Analyze and interpret research data and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and other scholarly activities.Grant Writing and Funding (15%)Lead and participate in grant writing efforts to secure funding for research projects.Collaboration and Translational Work (10%)Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, scientists, and educators, to translate research findings into practice.Mentorship and Supervision (10%)Mentor and supervise graduate students, research assistants, and trainees involved in pediatric rehabilitation research.Professional Engagement (5%)Maintain active engagement with the scientific community through professional organizations and research networks.Minimum QualificationsEducation: PhD in Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field. Additional PT degree preferred.
