The job in brief: Job Title - Senior Data EngineerWorking model - hybrid in ChiassoTeam - you will join the Data Analytics TeamLevel - ProfessionalLocation - Chiasso, SwitzerlandContract - Permanent - full-time (36 h/week)What your impact will be:Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Innovate: Champion new approaches and technologies, leveraging AI to optimize data processes and generate deeper insights.Collaborate: Partner closely with internal and business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating requirements into effective technical solutions.Prioritize: Manage competing demands and strategically prioritize projects to deliver maximum business value.Ensure Quality: Guarantee the performance, reliability, and scalability of our data systems through rigorous testing and maintenance.QualificationsYour expertise:Experience: At least 6 years of experience as a data engineer, with a proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade data systems.Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with cloud-based Big Data platforms like Google BigQuery.ETL/ELT: Expertise in data modeling and developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines using tools like dbt.Orchestration: Experience with workflow management engines such as Airflow.Automatization: Use Terraform/AWS CloudFormation to manage and automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure.Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a strong preference for Python.Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.Desirable: Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.Extract and Process: Develop and implement solutions to scrape and extract data from various sources and transform it into a usable format.Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in the travel, digital, or e-commerce industries.Analytical Skills: A strong understanding of data analysis principles and how to apply them to improve business outcomes.Additional InformationPerks of working with us:How we work together:An inclusive, friendly, and international environment (you'll be working with colleagues from +10 countries and over 48 nationalities)Shorter working week (36h as full time), with a half working day on FridaysFlexible start and end of the working day, with core hours from 10:00 to 4:00 pmPossibility to work from anywhere for a period of time per year defined according to local regulationsHow we learn together:Fri-Yays: half a day on Friday morning with a no-meeting mandate and dedicated to deep work, personal growth, learning and training and/or focus time.Professional and managerial skills development training paths, access to e-learning platforms such as O'reilly, Udemy, Coursera (depending on the department), and to our internal platform offering bespoke training contentOther perks:2 paid days off per year for volunteering purposesOccasional social events to foster connections among colleaguesTravel industry discounts and flash exclusive staff faresWe support our employees through life's significant moments with leave options (e.g parental responsibilities, marriages, bereavements, relocations, etc.) in line with local laws.Wish you were here?
