Senior Industrial Designer

The purpose of this role is to design and innovate Sonova's hardware products, with a primary focus on Hearing Aids as well as Chargers and Accessories. You will shape best-in-class B2C and B2B user experiences by applying user-centered design methodologies, creating ergonomic, intuitive, and aesthetically outstanding product solutions. Working closely with Product Management, User & Market Insights, Marketing, and R&D teams, you will identify opportunities and design solutions that ensure seamless integration within the Sonova ecosystem and deliver exceptional experiences for both End Users and Hearing Care Professionals.More about the roleLead and execute hardware product design projects (Hearing Aids, Chargers, Accessories) throughout the full user-centered design process, from early concept to implementationDesign 3D product models (Cad) and physical interfaces to create outstanding user experiencesInnovate at the ecosystem level, ensuring seamless integration of Hearing Aids and Chargers across the Sonova product portfolio for both B2C and B2B usersEnsure that created product designs align with global design principles and guidelines defined at the group levelCreate and evaluate 3D mockups with users, refining UX based on user insights and feedbackCollaborate closely with User & Market Insights teams to incorporate research findings into design iterationsWork with Product Marketing and R&D to gather requirements efficiently and translate them into actionable, implementation-ready design specifications for engineering teamsSupport stakeholder management and collaboration with business partners to ensure alignment and smooth executionMore about youEssentialUniversity degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a similar field6+ years of experience designing physical products in an international environmentStrong experience with user-centered design methodologies and collaboration with cross-functional teamsExperience managing design projects end-to-end, including coordinating multiple stakeholdersSolid understanding of hardware development and ability to translate insights into clear design requirementsExcellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and work effectively with diverse stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detailSelf-motivated, well-organized, and able to manage complexity and multiple prioritiesProficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhinoceros), rendering software (e.g., KeyShot), and 2D design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Fluent English language skillsPreferredExperience with health devices, consumer electronics, or mechanical designFamiliarity with medical device compliance requirementsExperience with Figma, Adobe XD, Confluence, or prototyping toolsGerman or additional language skills are an assetMore about what we offerAs one of the world's leading hearing care providers headquartered in Switzerland, we're committed to building an inclusive culture.
