JobdescriptionOurclient, a renowned international company is looking for aNetwork Architect (60%- 100%) based in Zug,Switzerland. Its a contract role.CoreResponsibilities:RequirementsEngineering:• Collaborate with internal stakeholders togather and formalize detailed VLAN and VM requirements.• Translate functional and non-functional needs into technicalspecifications.NetworkMigration & Integration:• Migrate VLANs and virtualmachines to our new infrastructure.• Configure andoptimize Cisco/Fortinet switches, firewalls, and routingcomponents.• Validate post-migration connectivity,security, andperformance.Security& Hardening:• Implement hardening measures onfirewalls and switches.• Ensure compliance withSiemens-specific securityframeworks.AccessControl:• Design and implement 802.1X NAC includingMAC-based authentication for legacy/non-802.1X devices.• Enable secure onboarding and dynamic VLANassignment.Monitoring& Logging:• Architect and deploy centralizedmonitoring/logging using Zabbix or similar.• DefineKPIs; set up automated networkalerts.InfrastructureAutomation:• Develop Infrastructure as Code forautomated configuration updates.• Automation viaAnsible, Git workflows, and CI/CDpipelines.Architecture& Documentation:• Deliver and document scalable,secure network designs.• Provide comprehensivedocumentation (diagrams, standards,manuals). RequiredTechnical Expertise:Networking:•Deep Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Fortinet FortiGate experience.•Advanced VLAN, VRF, trunking, routing, IPSec VPN skills.• Solid grasp of OSPF, BGP, Layer 2/3security.Security:• Proven work in firewall/switch hardening, ACLs, andsegmentation.AccessControl:• Expertise in 802.1X NAC including MAC-basedauthentication.Monitoring:• Experience with Zabbix or equivalent for KPImonitoring/alerting.Automation& IaC:• Advanced Ansible, YAML, Git, CI/CDexperience.• Python scripting a strongadvantage.OperatingSystems:• Strong Linux/Windows Server troubleshooting&scripting.Architecture& Design:• Capable of designing secure/scalablenetworks; thorough HLD/LLD and operationaldocumentation.Soft Skills:Exceptionalcommunicator.Analytical, cool-headedtroubleshooting under pressure.Able to workindependently and deliver to deadlines.Atleast B2-level English (spoken/written).
