About us: Meridian Medical develops and manufactures advanced ophthalmic laser devices. With a headquarter in Thun, Switzerland, and a subsidiary in Ljubljana, Slovenia, our 50-strong team is dedicated to creating innovative technologies that improve patients' vision and quality of life.

To strengthen our R&D team in Thun, we are looking for a motivated Electronics Engineer to contribute to the development of new laser systems and support our existing product portfolio. You will play a key role in designing both hardware and software components, collaborating closely with a young, dynamic, and innovative team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop hardware and software components for our laser systems — from concept phase through series production, including life-cycle management

  • Prepare technical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of test systems, including automated testing

  • Take part in shaping our development processes and contribute your own innovative ideas

  • Prepare and support EMC and safety tests in cooperation with accredited international test laboratories

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field)

  • Proven experience in electronics development using Altium Designer; knowledge of EMC, power electronics, or optoelectronics would be a big plus for us

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with prototypes and complex systems

  • Solid experience in programming embedded systems (C/C++)

  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style with a high sense of responsibility

  • Very good German and good English skills (spoken and written)

  • Additional experience in Python or wireless communication (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) is an advantage

  • Ideally, experience with development/documentation in the medtech field
