Junior Quant Business Risk Manager

Enterprise Risk Management is looking for a Junior Quant Business Risk Manager to support the development and maintenance of models used for risks and risk monitoring across Alpiq. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, an affinity for IT, and a good understanding of the energy sector (at least 6 months of experience).
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a functional unit that supports Alpiq's Business Units Trading, International and Switzerland with the monitoring and management of their market, credit, liquidity and business risks including Internal Control System.
Join us to work with us in a diverse, multinational, and dynamic environment and help us to manage the risks of Alpiq Group. This position can be filled either in Olten or Lausanne.
Your main responsibilities
- Develop and automate quantitative models (risk metrics, exposure analysis, KPIs)
- Collaborate with Business Units to collect, structure and validate data inputs
- Ensure data quality, model robustness, and clear visualization for management decision-making
- Continuously improving existing models
- Support digital transformation initiatives within ERM function
Your profile
- Master or PhD degree in Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Strong knowledge of Quantrix Modeler (tool used for models within ERM)
- Experience in quantitative modelling and model development
- Basic programming skills (Python preferred) and strong IT affinity
- At least 6 months of experience in the energy sector
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French or German is an advantage
