Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Visp

Duration: 12 months

We are seeking for a
Project Engineer
to support and lead technical investment projects. The role focuses on the development of engineering concepts, technical evaluation, and the execution of projects with direct impact on production operations and business performance. The Project Engineer is accountable for project cost, timelines, and technical functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Engineering Execution (approx. 60%)

  • Planning, coordination, and execution of small to medium-sized capital investment projects (CAPEX) affecting existing production facilities.
  • Responsibility for project scope, cost control, scheduling, and technical compliance.
  • Execution of process engineering calculations and support of plant optimization activities.
  • Preparation and execution of feasibility studies for new installations and modifications of existing plants, including cost estimation, timeline definition, and functional assessment.
  • Engineering support for production changes, scale-up activities, and new product introductions in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Concept Development & Technical Evaluation (approx. 20%)

  • Development of technical concepts and alternative engineering solutions.
  • Evaluation of technical feasibility, risks, advantages, and disadvantages to support management decision-making.

Coordination of Resources & Stakeholders (approx. 10%)

  • Coordination of internal departments and external engineering partners, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Planning and allocation of required resources to ensure professional and timely project execution.
  • Active collaboration within a matrix organization and cross-functional teams.

Process Optimization & Knowledge Transfer (approx. 10%)

  • Identification and implementation of process improvements and optimization measures.
  • Support of knowledge transfer, documentation, and standardization of engineering solutions.

Qualification Profile

Education

  • Technical degree (HF/FH/University) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a comparable discipline.
  • Master's degree is an advantage.

Professional Skills

  • Sound engineering knowledge with practical application in a pharma/biotech environment.
  • Experience in technical project management, preferably in regulated manufacturing (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or related industries).
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a structured working approach.
  • High level of independence, reliability, and sense of responsibility.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Personal & Communication Skills

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence without direct line management responsibility.
  • High level of motivation and commitment.
  • Very good written and spoken
