Role Overview

My client is seeking a Junior Machine Learning Engineer to support GPU-accelerated model optimization and inference for a multi-algorithm AGI/ASI system. You'll work closely with senior researchers, contributing to high-performance model execution, quantization, and infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain PyTorch-based inference pipelines
  • Optimize model performance on RTX 4090 GPUs (latency, throughput, memory)
  • Convert and optimize models using GGUF, Q8_K_M, int8/int4 formats
  • Implement CUDA/cuDNN/TensorRT inference optimizations
  • Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Support multi-GPU and distributed inference setups
  • Develop unit and integration tests, benchmarks, and validation tools
  • Assist with dataset preparation and model evaluation
  • Document system behavior, write guides, and participate in code reviews

Required Qualifications

  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Understanding of ML fundamentals and PyTorch
  • Basic exposure to GPU computing (CUDA or GPU-accelerated libraries)
  • Ability to read C++ code
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub workflows
  • Solid background in linear algebra and calculus
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
  • English fluency (written and verbal)

Preferred Experience

  • ML internship or personal ML/AI projects (GitHub portfolio)
  • Hands-on GPU or CUDA coursework/projects
  • Experience with quantization (int8, int4, bfloat16)
  • Familiarity with TensorRT, vLLM, , or similar inference frameworks
  • Open-source contributions in ML ecosystems
  • Exposure to distributed or HPC concepts
  • Interest in real-world ML deployment and optimization
