Collateral Officer

Pour l'un de nos clients, acteur de premier ordre dans le secteur de Commodity Trade Finance, nous recherchons un(e) Collateral Officer.

The role of the Collateral Manager is to ensure the day to day assessment and sign-off of individual transactions proposed by Front units (RM and TM) and to serve as a second line of defense, monitoring the collateral quality and the respect of the credit approved framework and conditions within the lifecycle of transactions. The responsibility covers all types of commodities :

·      Ensure the independent assessment, approval and monitoring of Commodity Trade Finance transactions in accordance with the credit facilities and policies.

·      Assess the various elements of a transaction such as : counterparties, price, legal, operational, financial, reputational and performance risks on a transactional and client level.

·      Evaluate and sign-off of new transaction's financing, releases and phases shifts.

·      Collaborate with the Front team, Risk, Legal and Senior Management as well as other relevant services with respect to structuring commodity trade finance deals, with primary focus on collateral security and documentation.

·      Recommend credit limit structures so that they fit in the clients' business model and meet the Fund's risk guidelines and market best-practices.

·      Verify that insurance policies (cargo, credit and performance) are assessed by Legal and documented in the client file.

·      Monitor the TMs maintenance and up-dating of the economic position of the client with relevant and precise information, reflecting the correct economic position of each transaction until its repayment.

·      Monitor the TMs creation and maintenance of each transaction file with all information related to.

·      Control active portfolio transactions as second line of defense, ensuring they remain within the approved credit frameworks and are properly documented.

·      Report any Red flags identification or important deviations and incidents, and manage the case in coordination with Risk, Senior Management and other stakeholders.

·      Contribute to the development of the Collateral Management function with inputs on internal guidelines, client positions monitoring, IT tools, efficiency measures or transactional documentation/templates.

·      Provide back-up in the absence of other CMs and collaborate with – and mentor – less experienced employees involved in transactions and credit structuring.
