Your Impact
We are looking for a Solutions Engineer (SE) with a background in Enterprise Networking and Cloud. The SE role is a partner-focused, technical sales professional responsible for providing technical information and guidance to partners and customers, delivering significant outcomes based on Cisco's product and services portfolio. You will work closely with Partner Account Managers in a pre-sales technical capacity, showcasing Cisco solutions, delivering presentations, conducting technical demonstrations, creating Bills of Materials, and running proof-of-concept activities. SEs partner, consult, influence, and design solutions that enable customers to achieve their desired outcomes. In addition to strong technical proficiency and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills that inspire passion and confidence. In addition to the above, the SE will perform the following functions:
- Serve as a technology solutions consultant to both the Partner and the Cisco account team.
- Collaborate closely with the Partner Account Manager on account planning activities.
- Educate partners on Cisco's unique value and differentiation, creating demand.
- Drive brand preference for Cisco.
- Align Cisco's products and services capabilities with customers' business drivers
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and an extensive background in the networking field.
- Possess a solid background working with large enterprises and/or large service provider IT accounts, with an understanding of how to engage new lines of business to drive awareness and preference for Cisco's Routing, Switching& Wireless, Data Center, Security, and Internet of Things solutions.
- Bring experience in pre-sales engineering, with a focus on Cisco's Enterprise Routing, Switching, and Wireless solutions.
- Have in-depth knowledge of large IT environments and applications.
- Plan sales strategies, develop proposals, and deliver customer presentations and demonstrations to close business and generate revenue.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of customer-facing experience in an engineering role is required, with a focus on large and complex opportunities.
- Experience with Cisco Networking products or relevant experience with key competitor offerings in the related technology area is required.
- Fluency in English and German with strong verbal and written business communication and presentation skills.
- This role is based in Switzerland.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the computing industry.
- Pre-sales experience.
- CCIE, CCNP, CCDP, or similar vendor certification.
- Highly developed planning and relationship-building skills.
- Experience and understanding of Digital and Service Strategy within the Enterprise business sector.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess problems and determine effective courses of action.
- Comfortable working in a diverse, global team—directly with customers as well as with our business partner community.
- BS/BA in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
