Role Description

We are seeking a Security Consultant (Contract, Remote / Hybrid) to review, validate, and harden the security posture of a modern web platform. The role focuses on application security, authorization design, secure data handling, and vulnerability discovery.

You will perform hands-on reviews of existing implementations, identify security gaps, and propose and implement concrete improvements end-to-end. This includes authorization logic, file and data storage, and protection against common web application threats. You will also map findings to relevant standards and legal requirements and communicate risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review and harden application authorization and access control, including Casbin-based policy enforcement
  • Assess secure handling of sensitive data and files, including encryption, storage, and access controls
  • Identify common web application vulnerabilities through code review and targeted penetration testing
  • Map security findings to recognized standards such as ISO, OWASP, and NIST, and applicable data protection laws
  • Deliver clear, actionable remediation recommendations and support implementation where needed

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in application security, security consulting, and web security
  • Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10, OWASP ASVS, and web application threat models
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002 and related security controls
  • Knowledge of GDPR and Swiss revFADP / nFADP
  • Experience with authorization models such as RBAC and ABAC
  • Ability to clearly communicate risks, tradeoffs, and remediation steps
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or CEH are a plus but not required
