, we are looking for a
Process Backend Engineer
to join our team and contribute to the development of our next-generation integrated photonic technology. In this role, you will be at the core of our innovation, extracting and analyzing complex fabrication data to support with the optimization of both individual components and full photonic integrated circuits.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, applying advanced data analytics to drive process improvements, ensure quality, and enable the successful development of cutting-edge photonic solutions. This position offers versatile responsibilities in a dynamic environment, where your expertise will directly shape the performance and scalability of our technology.

Tasks

  • Development of backend production processes from die sorting to KGD shipment including automatic optical inspection (AOI)

  • Backend equipment selection, installation, maintenance and operations

  • Development of fiber attach processes

  • Development of AOI recipes; analysis of particle data; trigger improvements

  • Documentation of processes, work instructions and maintenance instructions; training technicians and operators on tool operation

  • Contributions to other backend or packaging processes, such as dicing, assembly and wire bonding

  • Coordination of activities with product- and data engineering and other groups

Requirements

  • Master degree in engineering or related field

  • Several years experience in semiconductor backend processing

  • Experience with automatic optical inspection, photonics, equipment responsibility, programming (e.g. Python) and/or semiconductor industry are a plus

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment, ready to deal with rapidly shifting priorities

  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and team working attitude.

  • Creative, motivated, critical-thinking, and hands-on attitude with attention to details

  • Fluent English (spoken and written) with strong verbal and written technical communication skills; German is a strong plus

    30 min. phone interview

    hour phone interview
    with 1-2 members of the hiring team to deep dive into the core skills requirements.

  3. An
    on-site visit
    to interview with and meet many members of the team that you would be working in. This often includes lunch and gives you a strong sense of the company culture and individuals.
