Job Description:

Volleyball World is looking for a
Data & Analytics Engineer
to join our Digital & Data team. You will own and evolve our modern data stack (AWS, Snowflake, Airbyte, dbt, Dagster) into a scalable enterprise data platform.

Your work will strengthen data reliability, integrate new sources, improve pipeline quality, and support analytics across all business areas — including OTT, TV viewership, media value for sponsors, merchandising, ticketing/attendance, and digital engagement.

This role is central to our data strategy, enabling advanced analytics, commercial growth, and fan engagement through our composable CDP.

Responsibilities:

Build & enhance our enterprise data platform

  • Build and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using
    dbt
    ,
    Dagster
    , and
    Airbyte
    .
  • Optimize data workflows and apply best practices across
    Snowflake
    and
    AWS
    .
  • Ensure high data quality, reliability, and availability.
  • Design efficient, scalable data models supporting analytics, reporting, and activation use cases.

Support analytics & digital initiatives

  • Translate business and analytics requirements into robust data models and transformations.
  • Centralize and structure data across the entire Volleyball World ecosystem, covering digital products, TV audience data, media valuation insights, and attendance figures.
  • Deliver well-documented datasets that enable marketing, product, finance, and commercial analysis.
  • Support fan engagement and activation use cases within the composable CDP.

Govern, optimize & secure the platform

  • Implement data validation, monitoring, and testing frameworks.
  • Manage roles, permissions, and security in AWS and Snowflake.
  • Continuously improve data models, warehouse performance, and cost efficiency.

Collaborate & innovate

  • Work with analytics, product, and digital teams to evolve the data ecosystem.
  • Contribute to scaling the platform into a full enterprise solution.
  • Stay up to date with modern data stack best practices and propose improvements.
  • Use AI tools to boost productivity, automation, and development speed.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering with hands-on exposure to modern cloud data platforms. $

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, ECS, Glue, or similar).
  • Solid experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance optimization, and permissions management.
  • Strong command of dbt for transformations, testing, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Dagster or other orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
  • Experience with data ingestion tools such as Airbyte.
  • Strong understanding of modern data modeling and cloud data architecture, especially within an ELT framework.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
  • Willingness to use AI tools for coding, documentation, and workflow optimization, and to explore AI-driven data use cases.
