Laboratory Assistant – QC Microbiology Analysis (m/f/d)

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant (m/f/d) to support QC Microbiology operations at a biotechnology/manufacturing site in Visp, Switzerland. The role focuses on microbiological analyses—especially germ identification—as part of a QC laboratory that supports a broad range of analytical activities. This position requires hands-on work in a GMP-regulated environment, with a strong emphasis on laboratory accuracy, documentation, and adherence to quality standards.

• Completed training as a Biology Laboratory Assistant, BSc in Biology, or equivalent technical qualification

• Practical laboratory experience with at least one of the following methods:

  • PCR

  • Endotoxin measurements

  • Protein synthesis

  • Bioburden testing

• Strong interest in microbiology; prior experience is an advantage

• Reliable understanding of laboratory documentation and compliance requirements

• Strong German language skills and good English proficiency

• Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to take on varied project challenges

• Ability and willingness to work fully on-site

• Perform a wide range of QC microbiological analyses, with a focus on:

  • Germ identification using PCR and mass spectrometry

  • Endotoxin testing

• Carry out method implementation within assigned responsibility areas, including evaluation, review, and reporting of analytical results

• Document all laboratory activities in accordance with GMP, SOPs, and internal quality guidelines

• Support method verifications for new project introductions and ensure proper documentation

• Maintain compliance with all safety and quality regulations

• Ensure ongoing cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness of laboratory workspaces

• Contribute proactively to continuous improvement and reliable lab operations
