PowerUP -
General Project Coordinator (GPC) (f/m/d)
Workload: 40-80%
Duration: 6 months
Join Axpo's PowerUP career re-entry program and take an exciting step back into professional life. In this role, you will gradually assume responsibility for coordinating biomethane plant projects across their entire lifecycle, supported by structured onboarding and mentoring.

Role Overview:
As part of PowerUP, our career re-entry program, we are seeking a General Project Coordinator (GPC) who is returning to professional life after a career break. You will supervise and coordinate all activities involved in the delivery and performance of biomethane plant projects — from integration after acquisition through construction, commissioning, and operations — working across the different teams within PGB.

PowerUP offers a structured onboarding phase, targeted training, and close collaboration with senior experts, enabling you to refresh your technical, regulatory, and organizational knowledge and grow step by step into full end-to-end project responsibility.

This role goes beyond traditional construction or operations management. The GPC acts as the single point of coordination for the project, ensuring alignment of people, processes, tools, assets, budgets, timelines, and compliance requirements to deliver safe, efficient, and profitable biomethane plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate all project success factors across all phases: integration, engineering & procurement, construction & commissioning, ramp-up, and steady-state operations.

  • Act as the central point of supervision for cost, schedule, quality, safety, and performance, with increasing ownership during the PowerUP ramp-up phase.

  • Project Planning & Governance:

  • Maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers across teams.

  • Establish governance structures, reporting routines, and decision-making processes.

  • People & Resource Management:

  • Define staffing and resource needs across project phases.

  • Ensure availability of qualified personnel, training, and required competencies.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and collaborative working environment.

  • Tools, Systems & Processes:

  • Apply Axpo's project management tools and standards consistently.

  • Contribute to process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Regulatory, HSE & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local and European regulations.

  • Oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance.
  • Interface with authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
This role is designed for professionals returning after a career break. We explicitly encourage applications from candidates who have taken time away from their career (e.g., parental leave, caregiving, relocation, education, or personal reasons) and are motivated to reenter a responsible project management role with structured support.

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Energy, or related field.
  • Professional experience (prior to a career break) in:

  • Industrial project management.

  • Energy, biogas, biomethane, or process plant environments.
  • Managing complex, multidisciplinary projects across multiple phases.

  • Basic understanding of:

  • Construction and commissioning of industrial plants.

  • Operational requirements and asset management.
  • European regulatory and permitting environments (advantage).

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • End-to-end project management mindset.
  • Willingness to refresh technical and regulatory knowledge.
  • Learning agility and confidence rebuilding in a complex environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication abilities.
  • Financial and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to manage complexity across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Structured, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Fluent in English; Polish, Italian, or additional European languages are a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe, with planning transparency and consideration for work-life integration.

What PowerUP Offers:

  • Structured career re-entry with a defined ramp-up phase.
  • Tailored onboarding and training plan.
  • Mentoring and close collaboration with experienced project leaders.
  • A supportive, inclusive environment that values diverse career paths.
  • The opportunity to build a long-term career at Axpo in renewable energy.
