This position offers a unique opportunity to have a long term impact, being the Business Partner for pRED supporting Oncology (ONC) and Pharmaceutical Science (PS).

Oncology focuses on the discovery and early development of innovative treatments for specific diseases that affect the lives of millions. We maximize impact for patients with cancer by translating biological insights into meaningful therapies.

Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) provides the evidence that a molecule is safe and efficacious in clinical proof of concept studies and can be filed as a new medicine.

The position leads and drives change initiatives, people streams, Work Product Teams (WPTs), and squads to embed and execute P&C strategies effectively. Additionally, it may contribute to WPTs, squads, or initiatives in other areas of the business based on broader organizational priorities.

As a trusted strategic partner and coach, this role is accountable for fostering VACC leadership, enhancing organizational design and effectiveness (including driving mindset, behavior, and ways-of-working transformations), building a diverse and inclusive work culture, and ensuring future talent and capability readiness.

Business Acumen

• Aligning P&C strategy, goals, and objectives to overall business strategies and objectives; translates P&C strategies to drive key business results; provides guidance on talent management, workforce strategies, organization design and reward and recognition in partnership with RDS Business Partner Enterprise, other RDS P&C Business Partners/Business Partners Advisory, other P&C Chapters and subject-matter experts to develop high quality solutions

• Maintaining broad-based knowledge of multiple leadership areas across the organization and its operations; uses knowledge of business and P&C insights, metrics, expertise, and decision principles to effectively diagnose topics with a wide range of complexity

• Recommending business practice/work process improvements to identify opportunities for leveraging human capital; ensures all P&C initiatives have ROI that adds to organizational value

• Maintaining knowledge of external environment and other related information on peer and comparison groups to effectively diagnose and implement strategies to help drive business Decisions
   

Leadership

• Strategic sparring partner and coach for fostering VACC leadership and a leadership culture in line with the Roche leadership framework

• Diagnose P&C needs and identifies interventions that address issues of retention, change leadership, employee engagement, and leadership development, partnering with Enterprise Business Partner, WPTs/squads and other P&C Chapters as appropriate; uses appropriate tools for leadership competency and skills assessment

• Drive and implements change with proven ability to influence business leaders and P&C professionals to required outcomes

• Influence, develop, mentor and provide VACC leadership partnering with Advisory Business Partners
   

Strategic P&C Insights & Innovation

• Gather and analyze internal and external data, evidence-based research, benchmarks, P&C and business metrics to make critical decisions; shares insights with leaders and recommends innovative solutions based on the P&C decision principles that support the culture, strategic direction and resources

• Diagnose root causes of work environment issues, disruptive team dynamics and ineffective organizational setups; initiates interventions and shapes solutions in collaboration and co-creation with key stakeholders across multiple leadership areas

You are passionate about shaping People & Culture across different areas, with a strong focus on VACC leadership and alignment to Roche's vision and people strategy. You exhibit a creative mindset, high self-awareness, and act as a coach and mentor for other leaders. Building a culture of inclusion and belonging is a top priority, fostering psychological safety and a sense of belonging. You recognize the impact each employee has on Roche's purpose and ambitions.

You have already excelled as a P&C Business Partner in navigating the P&C system, collaborating with global teams, and forming teams to deliver on business and P&C strategies. You diagnose and lead global initiatives, influence with authenticity, build trust, and facilitate effective communication. You possess strong assessment skills, comprehend complex topics, and leverage technology for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Ideally fluent in both English and German at a business level.
