Head of Fraud AI

We're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with direct, hands-on experience in fraud detection to lead a new wave of innovation for one of the world's leading RegTech product companies.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll guide a small, focused team while remaining actively involved in designing, building, and deploying cutting-edge AI models that form the next generation of fraud prevention technology. From idea creation through to production delivery, you'll have full ownership of how AI is applied across complex, real-world financial data environments.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and mentor a small ML team while remaining fully hands-on with design, coding, and deployment.
  • Develop and refine AI models for fraud and anomaly detection across large-scale, real-time data pipelines.
  • Drive end-to-end implementation from concept through to production, including model monitoring and evaluation.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering and product teams to integrate models into live, mission-critical systems.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring the platform continues to evolve using the latest in LLMs, graph-based analytics, and predictive modelling.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven track record delivering AI-driven fraud detection or AML solutions within banking, payments, or RegTech.
  • Strong software engineering background (Python, Java, or similar) and experience deploying on Kubernetes or other containerized environments.
  • Solid understanding of anomaly detection, supervised/unsupervised learning, and modern ML frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable ML pipelines (Kafka, Spark, or similar).
  • Comfortable leading small teams, shaping ideas, and driving technical direction while staying close to the code.
  • Fluent in English 3
