The Company

Graian Capital Management SA is a Switzerland-based asset management firm (FINMA-licensed and regulated), focused on delivering total returns across a broad range of asset classes, including fixed income, equity, and multi-asset. Its assets under management (AUM) continue to grow and company is looking launch UCITS strategies soon.

The Team

The fixed income team operates with a total returns approach, unconstrained by benchmarks, and invests globally across the capital structure, using both derivatives (rates, credit, options) and cash bonds. The team manages two core strategies: Defensive Credit (Cash bps) and Credit Opportunities (Cash bps).

Additionally, there is an equity team managing US & European equity strategies and a Global Macro team.

The Role

The company is seeking someone to lead the hard-currency global emerging markets sleeve – corporates and sovereigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit investing, with a focus on high-yield corporates and sovereigns, and a proven track record of investing in emerging markets.

Location: Lugano, Switzerland (on-site only).

Responsibilities

• Actively manage a portfolio of investment ideas within the high-yield and investment-grade (on an opportunistic basis) global emerging markets universe new ideas per year).
• Take responsibility for the emerging markets fixed income views internally and externally. Contribute to the wider macroeconomic views of the team.
• Challenge the investment ideas of other portfolio managers/analysts during the bottom-up and top-down committees.

Requirements

• At least 5 years' experience in hard-currency emerging markets credit. Most likely 7-10 years.
• Preference given to candidates with buy-side experience.
• Experience across various emerging markets regions is a plus.
• Restructuring experience and/or local-currency exposure is a plus.
• Fluent English is mandatory. Additional languages (Spanish/French) are a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a small team environment.
