Microsoft SQL Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database systems on-premises and in the cloud, including database structures, TSQL development, SSIS packages, PowerShell and C# scripts, and reporting solutions with SSRS and Power BI.
  • Monitor system and database performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform query tuning and indexing to ensure high availability, stability, and efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day database administration tasks such as backups, restores, disaster recovery planning and testing, as well as applying patches and updates across all SQL Server environments.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies, user and role-based access controls, and ensure compliance with relevant data protection and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with application developers and system administrators, providing technical support and guidance to internal teams on MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, TSQL, PowerShell, C#, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Microsoft Windows Server OS.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator with strong expertise in performance tuning, database security, and high-availability concepts.
  • Deep technical skills across MS SQL Server and Azure SQL, including TSQL, PowerShell, C#, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and administering SQL Server databases, including backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery, and patch/upgrade processes.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing reliable technical support and clear guidance to developers and operations staff.
  • University degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent vocational education, combined with a solid track record in MS SQL database administration.
