Die Eidgenössische Forschungsanstalt für Wald, Schnee und Landschaft WSL gehört mit rund 600 Mitarbeitenden zum ETH-Bereich. Sie befasst sich mit der nachhaltigen Nutzung und dem Schutz der Umwelt sowie mit einem verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Naturgefahren.
Die Forschungseinheit Biodiversität und Naturschutzbiologie untersucht die Vielfalt des Lebens in ihren verschiedenen Formen, von der genetischen Vielfalt bis hin zur Arten- und Ökosystemvielfalt und deren Wechselwirkungen. Gruppenleitung Ökologie der Lebensgemeinschaften 80-100% (w/m/d)
Als Forscher/-in für Ökologie der Lebensgemeinschaften mit Schwerpunkt Bodenbiodiversität und Bodenökologie leiten Sie eine Forschungsgruppe mit 10 bis 15 Mitarbeitenden und richten die Aktivitäten auf die WSL-Strategie 2035 aus. Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören die Unterstützung der Projektleitenden der Gruppe sowie die Leitung Ihrer eigenen Forschungsprojekte. Sie werben Drittmitteln ein, pflegen die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Forschungsgruppen und unterstützen die Schnittstelle zwischen Forschung und Praxis. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf Bodenbiodiversität und Bodenökologie, einschliesslich der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Arten, Bodenfunktionen und Ökosystemdienstleistungen. Sie veröffentlichen Ihre Ergebnisse in wissenschaftlichen und angewandten Zeitschriften, betreiben Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und arbeiten mit Behörden und Expertenkommissionen zusammen.
Sie haben ein Doktorat in Biologie oder Umweltwissenschaften und verfügen über fundierte Kenntnisse in Ökologie der Lebensgemeinschaften, Bodenbiodiversität und Bodenökologie. Sie verwenden modernste Methoden und Technologien, um (Mikro-)Organismen zu identifizieren und ihre funktionellen Rollen im Ökosystem zu bewerten. Taxonomische Fachkenntnisse von Mikro-, Meso- und Makrofauna und/oder isotopische Methoden zur Bestimmung von Nahrungsnetzen sind von Vorteil. Sie verfügen über gute Kenntnisse in statistischen Analysen; Kenntnisse in Modellierung und/oder Bioinformatik sind von Vorteil. Sie verfügen über einen guten Leistungsausweis in der Entwicklung und Finanzierung von Forschungsprojekten sowie in der Veröffentlichung und Umsetzung Ihrer Forschungsergebnisse. Sie sind eine integrative und engagierte Persönlichkeit mit Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit Stakeholdern und haben Erfahrung in der Leitung von Forschungsteams, Doktoranden und Postdoktoranden. Ausgezeichnete Kommunikationsfähigkeiten mit fliessenden Englischkenntnissen und mindestens einer Schweizer Landessprache sind unerlässlich.
