Role Description

As an AI Engineer at ITNB AG, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions with a focus on Generative AI. Your expertise will drive the creation of scalable and replicable AI systems that integrate seamlessly into client infrastructures, ensuring compliance with stringent cybersecurity standards. Collaborating within a dynamic team environment, you will contribute to projects that span multiple industries, leveraging your skills to enhance ITNB AG's suite of AI-driven technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development:

• Develop and deploy scalable Generative AI solutions tailored to diverse industry needs.
• Architect end-to-end AI systems that integrate robust frontend interfaces with dynamic backend services.

Application & System Integration:

• Build and optimize full stack chatbots/Agents, ensuring a seamless user experience across UI and backend platforms.
• Leverage agentic frameworks to build autonomous AI agents with custom tools.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems by constructing data importers, processing pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and integrating external systems (e.g., MS 365).

Model & Data Engineering:

• Manage data vectorization and work with vector databases to enhance information retrieval.
• Prompt Engineering (LLM controls and System Prompts)

Innovation & Collaboration:

• Collaborate within a dynamic, fast-paced team to innovate and continuously improve AI capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Many of the required skills will be honed during the internship experience. What is important is the candidate's willingness to learn.

Educational and Professional Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Expertise

• Advanced Python programming skills.
• Experience with TypeScript, Docker, Git.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor and/or Claude Code.
• Proven track record in developing AI-driven projects with a focus on Generative AI and large language models.
• Experience in agentic AI development, including both UI and backend integration.

Specialized Knowledge (A plus)

• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) methodologies, including data processing, ingestion, and vectorization techniques.
• German proficiency.
• Experience in API integrations and custom tool development.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and the ability to implement security protocols (SSO, JWT, OAuth) in production systems.
• Competence in designing scalable, production-ready AI architectures.

Development and Integration Skills

• Demonstrated ability in web application development with an emphasis on frontend-backend integration.

Soft Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to innovation in a dynamic environment.
