Maintenance specialist with a focus on automation

Project:

For our client F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., we are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the role of Maintenance Specialist (m/f/d) with a focus on Automation (EB) in the Sensor & Cartridge Manufacturing department at their Rotkreuz site. In this role, you will be part of a highly specialized Production Maintenance team and will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of our highly automated production facilities and laboratory equipment in a GMP-regulated cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7). You will ensure the smooth operation of modern Industry 4.0 systems, support production in troubleshooting, and provide on-call support for emergencies. With your technical expertise, you will make a significant contribution to ensuring the availability and performance of automated systems. Furthermore, you will independently coordinate changes and upgrades to production facilities, process control and automation systems (PLC, DCS, MES), and actively participate in the digitalization of maintenance processes (predictive maintenance, paperless documentation). With your analytical thinking, team spirit, and strong service orientation, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality and process stability and support the further development of a modern, digitalized manufacturing environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Maintenance, calibration and repair of automated machines in regulated environments
• Support for production facilities, process control and automation systems, and the software used.
• Independent coordination and implementation of changes to equipment, systems & production facilities and QC systems – to a high standard. Coordination of spare parts procurement for the facilities.
• Adaptation of documents for operational use (e.g., work instructions, maintenance instructions)
• Planning of maintenance windows in consultation with production, site facility management and external service providers.
• GMP-compliant documentation
• Device commissioning and decommissioning
• Providing on-call service and troubleshooting
• Driving the digitalization of maintenance (Industry 4.0; Predictive Maintenance; paperless documentation)

Requirements:

• At least completed vocational training in the field of automation, plant and equipment construction, automation technology, mechatronics, electronics (Master's degree overqualified, Bachelor's degree might be acceptable if willing to do hands-on work?)
• At least 3 years of professional experience in automation, preferably in a strictly regulated work environment (automotive, aerospace, food and beverage), MedTech.
• Knowledge, especially programming experience, in the field of PLCs, DCSs, MES and other OT systems.
• First experience in technical support
• Fluent German, both spoken and written, with good grammar (documentation); good knowledge of English.
• Willingness to be on call (valid driver's license and own car required).

• Ability to analyze complex issues and solve problems
• Question existing thought patterns and create new perspectives
