Senior/Lead QA Automation Engineer

Location:
Zurich, Switzerland (Hybrid – working onsite 3 days per week).

UST is looking for a talented Senior/Lead QA Automation Engineer to join our client - a leading Swiss firm that operates in the
private banking and wealth management
sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of
    automation frameworks
    using
    Cucumber
    ,
    Selenium
    , and
    Playwright
    .
  • Define and implement QA strategy, processes, and best practices tailored to complex financial applications.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to define clear, testable requirements.
  • Review and improve test coverage for functional, regression, integration, and UI tests.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and drive test automation adoption.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in testing tools and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and security standards in a regulated industry.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in
    QA automation
    (with about 2 years in a
    lead or senior
    role).
  • Expertise in
    Cucumber
    (BDD),
    Selenium WebDriver
    , and
    Playwright
    .
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like
    Java
    ,
    JavaScript
    , or
    TypeScript
    .
  • Strong experience with
    test automation frameworks
    and design patterns.
  • Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
