Amatsu is a governance actor within the Sky Ecosystem, focused on risk research, modeling, and analytics for decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. We design and maintain frameworks that help the ecosystem govern safely, efficiently, and transparently — from setting collateral parameters to analyzing on-chain data and systemic risk.

Our mission is to equip the Sky Ecosystem with the tools, data, and insight needed to make sound, data-driven decisions around stability, capital efficiency, and protocol health.

About the Role

We're looking for a Risk Analyst / Researcher to join our team and contribute to developing robust, transparent risk management processes for the Sky Ecosystem. This role combines quantitative research, DeFi protocol analysis, and governance advisory work — ideal for someone who enjoys working across on-chain analytics, risk modeling, and strategic decision-making.

You'll help design and maintain the dashboards, models, and frameworks that inform governance decisions around asset onboarding, collateral management, and system-wide health.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve custom risk dashboards visualizing protocol health metrics, collateral composition, exposure, and other governance-relevant indicators.

  • Develop and calibrate risk models, perform scenario analyses and stress tests to evaluate protocol behavior under adverse market conditions.

  • Conduct asset onboarding assessments, evaluating new assets across volatility, liquidity, oracle dependencies, smart contract exposure, and counterparty risks.

  • Set, monitor, and review risk parameters such as collateralization ratios, liquidation thresholds, and loan-to-value ratios to ensure robustness in changing market conditions.

  • Proactively monitor market and protocol risk, including asset behavior shifts, DeFi ecosystem events, chain or oracle disruptions, and propose timely governance actions.

  • Advise governance participants and ecosystem stakeholders on risk trade-offs, parameter adjustments, and incident response.

  • Lead or contribute to research on emerging DeFi risk vectors, including stress test methodologies, systemic risk propagation, and protocol-level vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure dashboards, simulations, and analytical pipelines are accurate, performant, and reproducible.

Job requirements

  • Strong understanding of DeFi protocols, collateralized systems, and governance processes (MakerDAO / Sky, Aave, Compound, etc.).

  • Experience with risk modeling, quantitative analysis, or financial modeling in DeFi or traditional finance.

  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools.

  • Working knowledge of on-chain data analysis, oracles, and smart contract risk.

  • Comfortable translating quantitative insights into actionable recommendations for governance or leadership teams.

  • Clear, structured communicator with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Location & Collaboration

Remote-first, with flexibility to collaborate across time zones with other Sky Ecosystem participants and governance actors.
