Zürich, Zürich, Schweiz Vanyal Agency LLC Vollzeit

Who we're looking for

I'm here to find one of you who will take on a key role as one of our first remote contractors in our agency. This is a part-time position where you'll have the chance to help shape the direction of the company from day one. We're looking for someone motivated and curious to work closely with us three co-founders to build our agency into a long-term, successful business—embracing all its goals, challenges, and opportunities.

We're not just looking for someone to "do the work." We want someone excited to help develop this agency into something great, contributing ideas and growing with us over time. Specifically, we're looking for a Content Cutter / Video Editor who can turn raw footage into scroll-stopping, platform-native content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and more. You'll collaborate closely with us to plan, cut, and polish assets that perform—fast hooks, tight pacing, crisp captions, and clean brand execution.

What you'll do

  • Cut and edit high quality short-form & mid-form videos from raw footage
  • Create platform-native versions (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) with on-brand motion, captions (burn in/SRT), emojis, graphics, and light effects. Craft strong hooks, story beats, and pacing that maximize retention and watch time on TikTok,
  • Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and more.
  • Perform basic color correction, audio cleanup (EQ, compression, noise reduction), and music/SFX syncing.
  • Deliver thumbnails, titles, and social SEO elements (keywords, tags, descriptions) where needed.
  • Repurpose long-form content into multiple snackable clips; identify highlight moments and narrative arcs.
  • Build and maintain light templates for repeatable quality.
  • Collaborate with the team on content calendars, formats, A/B tests, and performance learnings.
  • Export and deliver assets following each platform's specs while maintaining brand consistency.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with at least one: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Working knowledge of motion graphics & captions (After Effects, MOGRTs, or in-app tools like CapCut).
  • Audio fundamentals: leveling, EQ, compression, noise reduction, and basic mixing for speech-first content.
  • Color correction/grading basics and exposure/white balance fixes for social content.
  • Expertise in platform nuances (hooks, safe zones, ideal lengths, export codecs/bitrates, subtitles).
  • Comfort creating captions (burn-in and SRT) and stylized on-screen text for readability.
  • Ability to quickly reframe/resize for 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, and 16:9 while preserving visual integrity.
  • Basic design skills for thumbnails and overlays (Figma/Photoshop or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with content repurposing workflows (long-to-short, highlight reels, podcast clips).
  • Not necessary but welcome: meme/trend literacy; light illustration/animation; 3D rendering/animation; motion design; basic analytics literacy.

  • Motivated, curious mindset with ownership mentality – treats content performance like a shared goal.

  • Strong, proactive, and frequent communication with the team; reliable with updates and handoffs.
  • Fast turnaround, careful attention to detail, and consistency across batches and platforms.
  • Problem-solving beyond the timeline: suggests hooks, formats, and iterations to improve results.
  • Time & priority management (balances multiple clients/tasks effectively).
  • Adaptability & willingness to learn new tools and trends quickly; comfortable with constructive feedback.
  • Team collaboration (works well with marketers, designers, managers, and clients).
  • Client empathy (can translate creative/technical trade-offs into business outcomes).
  • Comfort with an initial rev-share compensation model and the realities of early-stage startup pace.

Time commitment

Depending on the number of clients (small businesses) we will have at the same time (not more than 2–3 for now), we expect 1–4 hours of work per day, although this can vary depending on various factors.

Compensation

For the first 6 months after the company is founded, payment will be based on a percentage of our total revenue. To give you an idea: we typically charge between $500–$2,500 per month per client, and our goal is to reach about $10,000 total revenue in the first 6 months. This means earnings could be quite high if we quickly secure clients, but also lower—or even $0—if we don't. However, we see that scenario as unlikely, and in the absence of clients, your workload would also be close to zero. After this initial stage, we plan to move to a more standard pay structure.

Location & collaboration

We consider applicants worldwide and time zones aren't important as long as communication is consistent, regular, and smooth.

Team culture

We're a young team and looking for someone with a fresh, energetic approach who can grow with us—ideally someone who understands the startup grind, thrives on challenges, and values close collaboration.

Important

Anyone interested should be aware of the commitment and challenges involved in building and growing a new company. We're looking for someone who meets all the above requirements and is ready to work with us long-term, maintaining close communication with all three co-founders, and acting as an essential part of our team.

When applying, please include:

  • A brief introduction including your age, location and experience
  • Why you're interested in this role
  • Your skillset (tools, strengths, platforms)
  • A link to your portfolio/reel (bonus: 1–2 before/after examples)

We look forward to having you as a motivated content cutter/video editor on our team and building something great together
