The Video AI/ML R&D Team is responsible for the development of AI/ML algorithms and video pipelines across edge peripherals and host devices, specifically for consumer applications. Delivering unique human and machine vision solutions to Logitech's webcam business, the Video AI/ML R&D Team is at the forefront of technology and product innovation. The team consists of world-class engineers with expertise in computer science, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Based at the EPFL Innovation Park, Lausanne (Switzerland), the Video AI/ML R&D Team works closely with software and hardware development teams in North America and Asia.

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team, working alongside AI/ML Engineers and Software Developers to advance product and technology development for consumer webcams and related applications. You will operate in cross-functional teams spanning software and hardware engineering, program and product management, and design, efficiently delivering on product strategy and innovation. You will also collaborate closely with Logitech's Technology Office to help build a disruptive technology portfolio.

Your mission will be to drive all aspects of data management—from acquisition and storage to labelling, augmentation, and qualification—in support of ML developments across embedded and host platforms. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will support the development and maintenance of ML training infrastructure and pipelines, and ensure robust testing of trained models.

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team by managing departmental budgets, optimizing operational processes, and strategically planning resource allocation to meet business objectives.
• Drive the successful execution of technology projects from conception to completion through effective project planning, engineering management, and strategic supplier development.
• Foster a culture of innovation by guiding the team's adoption of cutting-edge techniques, tools, and frameworks in AI/ML and software engineering, ensuring our technology stack remains best-in-class.
• Enable the training and deployment of large-scale AI models by leveraging expertise in cloud computing platforms and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions by applying broad programming expertise in languages such as Python, C/C++, C#, and Java.
• Deliver efficient, real-world AI solutions by developing and deploying high-performance software on embedded platforms (e.g., ARM) and managing projects through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

• Experience with the latest AI/ML techniques, models and toolchains , from model architecture to model training, optimization and porting to embedded systems (Linux/Android) and clients (MacOS/Windows).
• Experience with training and scaling large models on distributed computing clusters (e.g., AWS, GCP, or institutional HPC clusters).
• Experience with data engineering collection, generation, augmentation and governance.
• Experience with Software development best practices (SDLC) in embedded systems and host clients.
• Ability to connect research, product development and business strategy.
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team spanning engineering, business and design.
• Keen interest in human-machine interactions.
• Organized, pragmatic, innovative, curious, and autonomous in your work, with strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Min. 8 years of relevant work experience in functional management, incl. people, process and technology management.
• Min. 5 years of relevant work experience in AI/ML and Software development with a track record of successful consumer-facing deployments.

Education:

• MSc in Robotics, Computer Science, Computational Sciences, Machine Learning, Data Science or related sciences
• PhD in related fields is a plus
• Startup experience is a plus
