SAP Basis Application Manager

Location: Burgdorf, Switzerland

Up to 165,000 CHF per annum

About the Role:

My client is a global leader in medical technology, dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with chronic diseases through innovation and sustainable solutions. They're now looking for an experienced SAP Basis Application Manager to take ownership of their modern SAP landscape and lead a skilled team in Burgdorf, Switzerland.

This is a key leadership role that combines strategic vision, technical depth, and team management. You'll ensure the stability, performance, and continuous development of an advanced SAP environment, while helping define the company's SAP strategy and roadmap for the future.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee and continuously improve a modern SAP landscape, including S/4HANA, MES, and EWM, integrated with SAP BTP, SuccessFactors, and SAP Work Zone.
  • Define and implement SAP architecture, standards, and governance.
  • Lead and mentor the SAP Basis team and manage relationships with external partners.
  • Ensure SAP security, authorisations, and compliance across all systems.
  • Optimise infrastructure performance, patching, release management, and high availability.
  • Advise senior IT management on SAP infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity topics.
  • Drive SAP-related projects, migrations, and cloud integrations.

What my client is looking for:

  • 5+ years of SAP Basis administration experience, ideally with S/4HANA and cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of SAP security, authorisations, and infrastructure management.
  • Experience leading teams or managing SAP projects.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent.
  • Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2) skills.
  • Willingness to be on call and occasionally work weekends or public holidays.
