Freelance Serialization & Packaging Qualification Engineer – Switzerland

We are seeking an experienced Serialization & Packaging Qualification Engineer to support a leading pharmaceutical contract manufacturer in Canton of Zurich, Switzerland during a critical equipment installation and qualification phase. This interim role offers the opportunity to take ownership of packaging, serialization and validation activities within a GMP-regulated environment. If you have hands-on experience with pharmaceutical packaging lines, equipment qualification and serialization, this is a strong opportunity to contribute to a high-impact operational project.

Your Responsibilities

  • Execute Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new packaging equipment
  • Perform equipment qualification activities including IQ and OQ, with some exposure to PQ
  • Lead serialization activities for a customer packaging project
  • Support process validation following equipment qualification
  • Ensure correct data flow and traceability between packaging equipment and serialization systems
  • Prepare, review and maintain GMP documentation, including SOPs, qualification and validation records
  • Support operator training and line readiness
  • Act as the technical interface for serialization topics with internal teams and the customer

Your Requirements

  • Experience supporting engineering and qualification activities in a GMP pharmaceutical environment
  • Hands-on experience with packaging equipment qualification (IQ / OQ)
  • Serialization experience in regulated pharma packaging (strong advantage)
  • Exposure to process validation / PQ
  • Comfortable working on-site and operating independently as a contractor
  • Experience in contract manufacturing or CMO environments is a plus
  • Knowledge of aggregation (unit → bundle → case → pallet) is a plus
  • English required, German preferred
