1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

Enabling WWF mission delivery through the continuous pursuit of the optimum balance between efficiency and effectiveness concerning internal systems, tools, and processes. This will be achieved via the delivery of a high standard of: strategic financial management, effective digital solutions, proactive risk management, quality guidance, advice, and communication of both regulatory and internal standards requirements all through an inclusive people-centered lens.

2 Major Functions
Manages all taxes and tax-related issues of WWF International. Acts as a global subject-matter expert on tax-related topics, and provides support to Country Offices.

3 Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Acts as a single point of contact to tax authorities both on the State and Cantonal levels and also acts as one of the contacts for the external auditors;
• Global subject-matter expert on tax-related topics for business partners to guide on tax-related matters in compliance with laws and regulations;
• VAT return preparation in accordance with Swiss Tax Law and Regulations and timely submissions of the returns;
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of the annual corporate tax returns and the calculation of tax provisions for accounting purposes;
• Assists with communications with the Regulatory Authority for Swiss Foundations regarding annual reconciliations of turnover and input VAT versus the VAT returns and the audited Financial Statements;
• Responsible for developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for the calculation of tax provisions; Acts as point of contact for external tax audits;
• Manages requests related to withholding tax and guides internal and external business partners with respect to documentation and agreements;
• Manages other tax topics such as capital gain tax, inheritance tax, etc., and recommends tax strategies to mitigate potential tax risks and to identify any tax savings by researching relevant taxation issues and legislation;
• Maintains legislative materials by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or revised laws; including Swiss corporate legislation;
• Updates & ensures compliance with the Internal Control System ("ICS") on a half-yearly basis and liaises with auditors for the processes under own responsibility;
• Carries out other duties, as and when required, at the request of the Manager, Treasury and Operations Accounting.

4 PROFILE

Required Qualifications.

• A university degree in finance/accounting/taxation;
• Minimum eight years of experience working within a tax department, ideally within an NGO or an international group of companies;
• Must have sound experience with Swiss tax legislation and compliance with relevant laws.

Required Skills And Competencies.

• Exceptionally strong analytical skills with the ability to set priorities are detail and deadline-oriented, can complete work with minimal supervision;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency (spoken and written) in French and English;
• Familiar with management information systems and reporting tools.
• Aptitude for clear and concise oral and written communication;
• An interest in the NGO environment and conservation;

5 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal.

Close contact with key staff responsible for financial data and reports, including other departments at WWF International and finance staff at WWF Regional and Country Offices.

External.

Works closely with tax authorities, external tax advisors, and tax auditors.
