To strengthen our team in St. Gallen, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced 
Head of Finance
 to join us from 
January 2026
 or by mutual agreement.

Your Role

As 
Head of Finance
, you will oversee budgets, payments, and financial planning, creating structures that foster clarity, trust, and transparency.

Working closely with the Executive Management Team, our external accounting partner, and international project teams, you will bring structure to complexity and ensure sound financial decision-making.

Key responsibilities
include
:

• Managing financial and liquidity planning, including cash flow and budgeting
• Overseeing quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements (including audits) together with our external accountant
• Leading budgeting, resource planning, and forecasting processes
• Handling day-to-day finance and controlling tasks (e.g. account allocation, accounts payable/receivable, review of expenses and time tracking)
• Communicating with clients, donor organisations and sub-contractors/sub-grantees to ensure that contracts and invoices are timely, correct, and respond to queries.
• Providing leadership and quality assurance for project budgeting, monitoring project financial implementation, and preparing reports
• Further developing and digitalizing financial processes
• Actively participating in the finance group of our alliance organization

   Preparing audit documentation and reports

   Managing payroll and HR-related financial administration (social security, pensions, etc.)

Your Profile

You bring experience, calm, and curiosity — along with a genuine interest in collaboration.

You are reliable, trustworthy, and understand that good financial management goes beyond numbers.

You bring:

• A university degree in Business Administration or a commercial diploma with further training in Finance/Accounting
• Strong strategic and entrepreneurial thinking
• Several years of experience in finance/controlling, ideally in the non-profit sector
• Solid knowledge of 
  Bexio
  , 
  Abacus
  , or comparable financial systems
• Experience in digitalizing and optimizing financial processes
• Experience of working across multiple currencies
• A structured, reliable, and service-oriented working style
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Very good command of 
  German and English
  , both written and spoken
• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary and intercultural teamwork
