A leading global biopharma manufacturer is seeking a
Senior Scientist
to join its Hygiene and Contamination Control team at a world-class GMP campus in Visp. The site is one of the largest integrated manufacturing hubs in Europe, offering end-to-end exposure across biologics, small molecules, and advanced therapies. It's an environment built around technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement, with strong investment in infrastructure, systems, and people. Here, you'll find the scale and complexity of a global CDMO, combined with the autonomy and impact of a focused site-level role.

The Role

  • This is a key technical position responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continually improving hygiene and contamination control standards across a multi-product GMP environment.
  • You'll lead projects spanning material transfer, gowning, cleaning, disinfection, and cleanroom behaviour, ensuring alignment with both internal policies and regulatory expectations.
  • You'll also coordinate Cleanroom Performance Qualifications (PQs), maintain robust documentation and evidence trails, and drive standardisation of hygiene-related SOPs across production and utilities.
  • The role will see you partner closely with QA, QC, EHS, and production teams to strengthen contamination control, lead audit preparation and follow-up, and deliver training that embeds best practice across all manufacturing areas.
  • This is a high-visibility position with real ownership, where your technical input will directly influence product quality, compliance, and operational readiness.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong GMP experience within sterile, vaccines, biologics, or other aseptic manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in hygiene project delivery, including cleaning, disinfection, gowning, and cleanroom behaviour
  • Hands-on experience coordinating Cleanroom Performance Qualifications and PQ documentation
  • Proven track record in writing, reviewing, and standardising SOPs across multiple functional areas
  • Experience supporting audits and inspections, with confidence in documentation and CAPA management
  • Project or programme management experience with cross-functional teams
  • German language preferred (English essential)
