Role Purpose

The
Head Warehouse & Logistics
is accountable for all warehouse and logistics operations at the Stein site and for achieving
Swissmedic licensing
for logistics processes, equipment, rooms, and systems within DPS growth projects.

The role ensures safe, efficient, GMP-compliant, and future-oriented logistics operations supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing, including warehousing (incl. 3PL), material and inventory management, inbound/in-house/outbound logistics (incl. cold chain), delegated sampling, and operational leadership for existing and new facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Logistics Experts and Operators, including qualification, training, recruitment, and performance management
  • Manage daily warehouse and production logistics operations for an aseptic manufacturing site (8 Operators, 1 Expert)
  • Oversee all warehousing and material management activities, including receiving, storage, issuing, handling, booking, allocation, and scrapping
  • Ensure GMP-compliant storage, transportation, and distribution of materials, including cold chain logistics
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of warehouse and logistics processes
  • Act as Business Project Leader for the local SAP EWM implementation (optional) and support SAP EWM readiness
  • Represent Warehouse & Logistics during regulatory inspections, health authority audits, and customer audits
  • Represent Operations in investment and DPS growth projects, including operational handover, Swissmedic readiness, SOPs, risk analyses (SHE/GMP), and staff training
  • Ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders and Global Engineering / CAPEX teams
  • Support the Site Supply Chain Head in achieving project and overall DPS objectives

Essential Requirements

  • Fluency in
    German
    and
    English
  • GxP / pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
  • Leadership experience with small on-site teams
  • SAP knowledge (SAP EWM preferred)
  • Ability to work
    4–5 days per week on site

Accountability

  • Full accountability for warehouse and production logistics operations at site level
  • Swissmedic and audit readiness for logistics processes and systems
  • Continuous improvement of logistics operations and systems
