The Data Engineering team at Swiss Life Asset Managers is building the next-generation company-wide data platform, with the purpose of making analytics data more available, more centralized, more secure, and better quality.

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a hands-on senior/staff engineer to join the team and help deliver technical excellence for this foundational, high-impact project: participate in the team's daily activities both with hands-on code technical contributions but also support other members of the team with your experience.

Experience

  • Excellent Python skills.
  • A track-record of delivering high-quality, well tested, robust code.
  • Deep familiarity with modern software development workflows: linting tools, unit tests, code review, integration tests, source control, CI/CD pipelines, Docker.
  • Strong opinions about technology, with the ability to compromise and build consensus.
  • A proactive attitude towards refactoring and lowering technical debt.
  • The ability to effectively work as part of a diverse team across geography, culture, and experience.
  • Good communication skills in English, verbally and in writing.

Ideal candidates will also have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Column-oriented processing libraries (pandas, polars, pySpark, etc.)
  • SQL
  • Snowflake
  • Terraform
  • Kubernetes
