As a Global Sales Manager for our new Integrated Motor Drives (IMD) offering, you will play a key role in shaping and establishing a brand-new product line in the market. This is a unique opportunity for a self-driven "hunter" to define commercial strategy, build customer relationships from scratch, and drive product development in close collaboration with early adopters. In this dynamic role, you will thrive on ambiguity and gain the freedom to influence and create foundational structures for long-term business growth.

The work model for the role is: hybrid; #LI-Hybrid

This role is contributing to the IEC LV Motors division globally. Location for the role is global - we accept applications worldwide.

Willingness to travel 30%

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Identifying and acquiring new customers and develop strategic partnerships for IMD, focusing on early adopters and building strong relationships from the ground up.

  • Leading the end-to-end sales process, from opportunity generation to deal closure, in close collaboration with Local Sales units and Account Managers. Collecting and translating customer feedback into actionable insights for future product development.

  • Acting as a strategic link between customers, sales, and R&D teams to guide future developments based on customer needs, refine offerings and establish ABB as a trusted partner in a new product category

Qualifications for the role
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7–12 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or product commercialization—preferably with new or disruptive industrial technologies.

  • Proven track record in successfully launching new products or solutions into the market and acquiring early adopters in unestablished segments.

  • Solid understanding of motor technologies, motor control and power electronics.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to thrive in uncertainty, define direction with limited data, and independently build structure from ambiguity.

  • Excellent communication, persuasion, and stakeholder management skills; able to instill confidence and momentum among skeptical or cautious customers

  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative, drive, and resilience; motivated by challenge and energized by building something new from the ground up.

  • Fluent English language skills.
