Your mission:

As Accountant, you will oversee the accounting operations across QUMEA's international entities and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial data. You will manage intercompany reconciliations, coordinate local compliance, and continuously improve financial processes and internal controls.

This is a key role within the finance team, reporting directly to the CFO, and contributing to QUMEA's operational excellence and scalable growth.

Your duties in detail:

1. Accounting & Reporting

2. Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of QUMEA entities in Switzerland and abroad.

3. Take full ownership of operational accounting tasks, including booking of transactions, monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
4. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
5. Prepare financial statements in compliance with OR and local standards.

6. Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

7. Intercompany (IC) Reconciliation & Compliance

8. Own the intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring transactions between entities are recorded correctly and balanced monthly.

9. Collaborate with local accountants and external partners to ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory requirements in each country.

10. Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements in coordination with the CFO.

11. Process Improvement & Internal Controls

12. Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting workflows and reporting processes.

13. Strengthen internal control frameworks across entities to ensure data integrity, compliance, and efficiency.
14. Standardize accounting policies and processes across countries and systems.

15. Support system automation and integration projects (ERP and reporting tools).

16. Audit, Tax & External Stakeholders

17. Prepare and coordinate annual audits with external auditors for all QUMEA entities.

18. Liaise with local accounting firms and advisors to ensure proper filings and compliance.

19. Financial Planning & Support

20. Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.

21. Provide financial insights and variance analyses to assist in strategic decision-making.
22. Contribute to the continuous development of QUMEA's financial infrastructure.

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or a completed commercial education with a further qualification in accounting (e.g. Swiss Federal Diploma in Accounting)
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial controlling, ideally within an international or multi-entity context.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Bexio, or similar).
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable with digital accounting environments.
• Analytical and structured mindset with a strong attention to detail.
• Proactive and independent, yet highly collaborative.
• Passionate about improving processes and driving efficiency.
• Reliable, hands-on, and motivated to build a scalable finance function in a growing company.
• Excellent command German and English.
