Job Description

For one of our key clients in the
financial services
sector, we are looking for a talented Data Model Designer / Data Engineer with strong experience in banking data architecture, Snowflake, and Microsoft Azure.

You will join high-impact financial projects and help shape modern data platforms used by leading Swiss and international banks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain logical and physical data models aligned with banking standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. BCBS 239, Basel III, FINMA).
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines using Snowflake and Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business teams to ensure consistency, quality, and traceability of data.
  • Define and maintain data modeling best practices, metadata structures, and performance optimization.
  • Support data migration and integration projects across risk, finance, and core banking domains.

Profile

  • 3–7 years of experience in data modeling or data engineering within banking or financial services.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake (warehouse design, query optimization, resource monitoring).
  • Strong knowledge of Azure ecosystem: Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, DevOps CI/CD.
  • Excellent SQL skills and understanding of dimensional modeling (Kimball, Inmon).
  • Familiar with data governance and regulatory data management principles.
  • Fluent in Italian and English (mandatory), German or French is an advantage.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python or Scala for data transformation.
  • Exposure to Data Vault 2.0 and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of cloud security concepts and Azure Active Directory integration.
  • Previous consulting experience with large banking clients in Switzerland.

Education and Certifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • Certifications such as SnowPro Core, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, or TOGAF are a plus.
